...and stuff

I've been laying in bed at night and blogging our days out in my mind. If only I was taking the time to actually do it. People might think we have lives. Isn't it silly that I stress out about being behind on my blogging? It's not like I've ever promised anyone I'd never get behind and it's certainly nothing Cole and/or Danny expect me to do so why do I expect it of myself? The truth is, it's not really an expectation...it's a desire. Blogging is completely therapeutic for me and it's amazing how "blogging it out" can make me feel more gratitude for my blessings, realize that things are going to be okay or help me see that I actually do fun things so I'm not a terrible parent. It's a win-win.

I'm finding that the danger for me is when I start to look around at other peoples' blogs. Especially the people that I've termed "special occasion bloggers". Because then literally ALL you see from them is vacations, parties, babies, new jobs, new houses and other fun announcements and you start to wonder if their life is just a series of these types of days. For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with these types of bloggers, it's just not my style...and that's OK.

I've had to distance myself from doing much blog hopping at all so if I haven't been by your blog lately, my most sincere apologies. It's for my emotional health so I know you'll understand :)

With the fantastic Instagram revolution--I have found it so much easier to document the little moments in life. This blog post might just be a string of random Instagram pics. {and I've decided to add a few others too} I'm super into breaking rules. Especially if I'm the one that made the rules.

Yes, I've just decided. It will be exactly that.

4th of July delight (made by Scott & Amy White)

Val's chickens. Cute little things. Wouldn't mind having some of my own someday :) Is it just me or does it look like there is an actual egg inside of her glowing?

My Dad: The Master Grillman

Somebody ate too much...

Exploring City Creek Center. It was interesting and fun. I personally think it was overly hyped but that's to be expected when we waited so long for it to come. Cole enjoyed himself and that's what mattered to me.

 Hanging out at Lowe's.

Rae and Lolly

Birthdays on Ambree's team at work. They're "kind of a big deal".

A new favorite smoothie recipe

Cole won't touch smoothies with a 10 foot pole if they're green--so we went for orange instead.

Proof that I have a serious disease that involves me not wanting to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

First squash from our garden! I'm not gonna lie...I was pretty pumped.

The BEST and only appropriate way to cook hotdogs. Skewered!

That's all for now. More later!

"special occasion bloggers" - that is awesome. I'm probably guilty of that at times..but no, really my life is perfect. ;)

The chicken/egg picture is freaky. And your hair is really cute in that fun picture with Laura!

We are down two chickens...sad. A dog got to them while I was away. :( haven't seen any eggs yet.

Wish I had a smoothie right now.

How in the world do you get a skewered hot dog?

That cake looks awesome.

Congrats on the squash. That's super exciting. It just is.
