2014 Wrap-Up
I feel like every year I say the same thing about how quickly the year went by. Maybe that's just part of being an adult. But dang--this year flew by. Here are a few last things from 2014:
Finding notes in the trash.
(Cole's job was to take the garbages out and apparently this one was too heavy)
Cute baby bums. As Scott put it, "Happy nude year!"
Discovering the joys of olives.
Also discovering Laura's old wheelchair.
We had the most bizarre winter I've ever experienced in Utah. We had one or two good snow storms all winter long. Kind of eerie. Luckily we were able to sneak some sledding in with the Oldhams on one of those days.
| Oh hey. I just have to take this call real quick. |
Hangin' with Jen. I always love when Jen is in town. There is something so therapeutic about getting together with people who have known you since you were just 12 years old. They get you. You can be yourself around them. We don't have to compete, tear each other down or pretend like our lives are more perfect than they really are. We can be real. And really ridiculous. We've been friends for over 20 years and I think these pictures prove that alcohol is not necessary to have a good time.
NYE
I remember when I was younger and I had these big expectations for what I thought New Years Eve should be like. A big celebration, food, family/friends and a passionate kiss when the clock strikes twelve. Ahhh, how my expectations have changed. We contemplated moving the clocks up so we could celebrate at 10:00 with the live "ball drop" in NYC and then all go to bed. Cole is too old to have the wool pulled over his eyes so that didn't pan out. We did end up celebrating at 10:00 with the East Coast but then Danny went to bed and Cole and I stayed up until Midnight. I read while Cole played the Wii. It was a crazy, wild party. But it all began with making our crazy, wild party hats:
2014 had its challenges but it was also full of blessings and tender mercies. Bring on 2015. Let's do this thing.
