My review of Vonage Service
Vonage is the devil. It is seriously the most ridiculous thing (next to Sun Rocket) that we have ever used. I haven't been happy with the service since we got it, but the first month was free--and I wanted to give them a fair chance. It sounds too good to be true. Only $25/month for unlimited local and long distance calling? AWESOME right? Nope. The phone was constantly cutting out, and there was this weird thing that would happen SEVERAL times a day when I'd be talking to somebody and all of a sudden they couldn't hear me, but I could hear them. I was pretty frustrated. Especially after being on hold for 20 minutes to talk to Cole's pediatrician, or get through to a pharmacist, etc. and then to only have them say "hello? hello? I'm sorry, but I can't hear you". Not cool. Then I'd have to call back, and start all over again...this time using my cell phone.
They claim to save you money. Once again--not necessarily true. I just called to cancel our service with them, and it was a bear. I think I was offered about 4 different offers like "we'll pay for one free month" or "we'll only charge you $5/month to stay with us", etc. They would not let me cancel. I finally had to bust out mean RaeLynn. She's a little beasty...so I hide her away for times such as these. I literally had to tell the CSR who I could barely understand (who knows what country was being outsourced) that I DID NOT WANT TO STAY WITH THEIR COMPANY. And that I was willing to pay the cancellation fee (since when is there a cancellation fee?!) to get rid of them. The CSR asked me several times to say "yes" about him canceling my service. It was ridiculous. He'd say "Now Reavin (not my name, but at this point, I didn't care) do I have your permission to cancel your service?" My final answer was "yes, for the love--cancel my service!"
Beware: Do not use Vonage. Your service will be terrible. They tried to blame it on Comcast, we never had any problems with Comcast until we got Vonage. They'll try to blame in on the person on the other end of the line. But I finally ended up practically begging to be released from the phone call...it was dragged out to a hefty 20 minutes. 18 of those minutes were me trying to convince this guy that I really did hate their service, and that I really did want to cancel. FOREVER. FOR-E-VER. Oh goll.
