Baby Cake

We love it when Danny gets the opportunity to sharpen his cake making skills. He finished another cake the day before Thanksgiving for a baby shower. The parents don't know the gender of the baby yet--so we played it safe with green & yellow and stars & duckies. I'm really liking that tip he did the edges with, and he got all creative and did the stars and duckies in sugar cookies instead of fondant so it would all be edible, and palatable :) For being a self-taught cake maker, he is pretty dang good, if I do say so myself.

That is really, really cute! I love the sugar cookie idea- that would be the first thing I'd eat off that cake. Good job Danny!

If you love the opportunity to sharpen your cake making skills, where the heck is our cake that looks like a real, live turkey in size and proportion?

The cake was a hit. The sugar cookies were great, it was easy to cut right though them when we served it. Very cute and very tasty! Thanks again.
Adorable cake, just like everyone has said. Okay, and your blog is adorable too. I keep trying to find out where on blogspot you can upload backgrounds etc. like you guys do. How the heck do you do it?
