Striking a Balance

Am I the only that seems to get overwhelmed with finding a balance in their life? I'm not very balanced...I usually get on a financial kick--and I get very focused about our finances and budgeting and I let some other things slide. Then I get really into eating right and I am so obsessed with it, that it consumes me and I start to slack in other areas. It's always a struggle for me to keep the same level of commitment in every area of life. I was thinking the other day how in the world women balance:
Keeping a clean home
Feeding yourself and your family healthy food
Budgeting for spending AND saving
Keeping track of random things like oil changes, etc.
Making sure the laundry is caught up
Making all doctor appointments and actually showing up for them
Keeping prescriptions filled
Blogging (yes--this is necessary)
Paying the bills on time each month
Exercising regularly
Attending church, reading scriptures & praying daily
Having family home evening weekly
Attending the temple frequently
Magnifying our callings
Being a good neighbor, friend and family member
Going out of our way to serve others
Teaching young children the things they need to learn
For those who it applies: working part time to help bring in some $$
Scrapbooking
Learning new skills & talents
Finding time to read good books
Going to baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties and family celebrations
Being actively involved in your community
Visiting extended family
Going on dates with your spouse/significant other
Family vacations
Returning books to the library on time (HEH)
Managing your time wisely
Teaching your kid how to potty train
Being cheerful and optimistic
Working on food storage
Creating 72 hour kits/evacuation plans/living will
And all the other ancillary things that come with being a Stay at Home Mom. (SAHM)
Seriously--what in the heck. How do people do it? I realize I'm going overboard on the list here, but honestly--some people just really have it together. I'm trying to figure it out. Ideas?

So pick what's most important for the day and only bite off what you can chew... or swallow without gagging :)
My philosophy remains the same- use your blackberry or day planner (yes, embarassingly I did used to work for Franklin Covey, and NO I won't teach anyboy how to use it ANYMORE) hence, the ability to say NO!! NO NO NO. One of my FAV words. Not a fun word to use, until you get used to it :)
So I am totally in LOVE with Photoscape. Thank you for sharing the goods! Question for you though - your Photoscape collages enlarge to a full page when I click on them from your blog. How did you do that? Mine always show up tiny in the upper left corner of the page and it's kind of bugging me. Okay, it's really bugging me. :)
And happy late birthday Danny. The posts from his fam were great - clever idea Rae!
Good luck keeping the plates from falling!
I notice Rae that you are very honest with your posts, and so many people can relate! I appreciate your willingness to share, it sure helps knowing I'm not the only one struggling, I just don't know how to blog about it so well!
Redo that list hon, and make it half that size...then you'll still be doing more than you should!
We all have the same amount of time.. but what makes us off balance is when we spend more time on a certain few items (blogging, for instance-- which isn't exactly necessary, but it seems like it when you're addicted) when we SHOULD be doing other things. Because there's NO WAY we can get to everything if we're spending too much time on one of two of those things on the list. It's all about BALANCE, baby! And keeping your priorities straight. Thanks for the reminder! I need to sign off and start some laundry!
