White House Update
Nothing too exciting is going on this week. It's been a pretty chill week (which was very welcome after my last week of chaos). We are excited that Danny actually gets a holiday off! This is still pretty new to us since he worked in the hospitality industry for so long!
The 4th of July is a big deal to me. I love celebrating our freedom, and honoring those who are making sacrifices for us to enjoy the quality of life that we enjoy. When I get feeling down and think that our lives are so hard--I just need to remember what's going on on the other side of the globe (or even down the street) and I remember how good I have it. So what if we have student loans? WE HAVE EACH OTHER. The past few days I have read a couple blogs that broke my heart. Families who have lost children in their innocence. Sometimes it's hard to understand why horrible things happen. But in all the heartache that accompanies their tears, miracles are happening. The God of heaven and earth is holding his children and crying with them. Friends and neighbors are given the opportunity to serve and hearts are open to the truths of the gospel. I've been holding Cole a little tighter this week.

I was just trying to explain the
4th of July to Shalie today. We really are so blessed to live in such a great country and to have the gospel. Thanks for the nice post and the reminder to hold my Shalie closer. Miss you guys. Enjoy the holiday!
