Miracle of Miracles

I've never seen anything like this in my entire life. I think it would be a lot less cool if these guys were professional piano movers--but none of them are. They were just great guys willing to help us out. You probably can't TRULY appreciate this video unless you, yourself have moved a piano. Our friend Mickaela bought our piano from us right before we packed it into the U-haul (blessings your way Mickaela!!). Her husband was away at Drill for the weekend so I can't wait to see what his reaction was when he came home to see a huge (seriously massive, upright piano in his second level apartment!) I know I'm dorky, but my heart was seriously pounding the whole time. I was just hoping that the piano didn't fall down and splat someone to death. That thing has got to weigh at least 1,000 pounds. Thank you to all the guys who helped us move it. I still can't believe they did it. Good luck moving that thing when you leave the apartments! haha...

Trying to figure out how the heck to do it.

The celebratory dance

The temporary resting spot...

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3 (Jeremy comes in right after they're done & Willie describes his war wound)

As a matter of fact, they all deserved to be mentioned by name:

Kendall Barrowes
Dan Norris
Willie Miller
David Rathbun
Greg White
Danny White
Gavin Winkelcotter

Way to go guys! That's very impressive! When my sister-in-law moved down here from Idaho and moved in with my inlaws, they had no where to store their piano so we got it. We had to move it up a flight of stairs too. But it was a baby grand! So I completely understand this video! HOORAY for your victory!

That freakin rocks. Now I know who to call to move my piano next year. When they guys in my ward moved it in, they busted the leg off and we had to replace it! And that was only down 5 carpeted stairs! You go boyzzz...
I'm so glad you've updated your blog! Every time I drive past your apartment I look in and am a little sad you guys are gone. :( I look forward to seeing your upcoming posts...hope you're settling in well!
P.S. Kendall was telling me how when your brother came to help with the move, you and Danny and him were totally cracking him up! He was really entertained by the combination of all of your guys' humor. I said to him, "See! They are SO cool!" (not that Kendall didn't believe you guys were cool, he just didn't get to know you as well as I did...curse his long hours of work...)

Anyway we will have to plan a game night or something sometime with all of us Alta Pines folks...past and present residents of course!

I'm glad the move went well! You need to make Willie keep up the raptor impression so that when I see him next he will remember how to do it! Hahahaha! Just kidding. (he'll probably know what I'm talking about but I wouldn't bet he forgot his good ol' days at the OSF) I hope you love your new place!

HEY! I LOVE the piano and play it almost every single day. Raelynn, when i heard that you were selling your piano i knew that i should buy it. i talked to bleu about it and he was less than excited, but i kept feeling the promptings and then when you came to say the guys would move it for me, there was no fighting it. I MUST HAVE IT!! :) Let's just say that Bleu did NOT do a celebratory dance. he said "there goes our savings" But he knows that i love it and it will entertain me while he's gone.
I'm so glad that I bought it. You can come back any time to visit your awesome piano as long as you play something for me.

Love you guys.
