SURPRISE!
I have always been big on birthdays. Growing up, my mom always made sure we felt special on our birthday, and I really want to carry that tradition on. There aren't many days in our lives that are all about US, and since I'm apparently very self centered...I don't mind another opportunity to celebrate! Danny won husband of the year 2008 (sorry ladies) for planning a surprise birthday party with a bunch of our friends from "The Pines" (the nickname we gave it as to not disclose the full identity...we're so sneaky). It was so much fun. It was a total surprise to me until as we pulled into the parking lot (I was blindfolded) Cole started shouting out peoples' names. Look! Lilly's house. Jakes's house! etc. So I knew where we were. I just didn't know what/who was waiting for me. Danny busted out a gorgeous cake and we had cake & icecream and played some games. I love these people. I know we only lived here for a year and a half. But {prepare for cheese} I have NO DOUBT that we lived here when we did for a reason. I met some of my closest friends while living here. They are people we will ALWAYS stay in touch with. I love them dearly and was glad for an excuse to hang out (even if we WERE screaming over loud children...it comes with the package). Thanks Danny & Amy {and David if you helped...jk}. I'm not about to caption all of these photos because like I've said before, the only time I get to blog is at night and it's 1:30 AM. I'm headed to bed. I'll just give the highlights.

Our husbands don't like it when we flirt. I don't get it.

One of the funniest moments of the night for me. Norda guessed "chocolate factory" and "photosynthesis" from these pathetic drawings!! It helped that she was the one who wrote those particular clues for the game--otherwise I would have felt like a friggin' genius.

I remember when this couple moved into our ward, I gave them the "best dressed couple" award for our ward. The vote was unanimous. I can't even compete with them (appearance wise) but I HAD to get a picture with them. Duh. It helps that they are also the nicest slash hottest people in the world. Also, Dahlia can do a killer grinch impression. Jim Carrey...think about it.

There are two times in a woman's life where her husband should hold her hair back.
1. When she is barfing
2. When she is blowing out candles. (Hello--my hair is my best asset...I'm not about to let it get burned to a crisp!)
