To be blogged...

I keep thinking to myself "I need to blog this" or "I can't forget to blog this. Really, it'd get everyone laughing". And then I sit down to blog and all coherent thoughts leave my brain. I stare blankly at the screen and start to wonder how many hours of sleep I got last night and how I really need to go clean toilets. Gross.

I'm starting to wonder how people find time to blog at all. With our new layout in the new house, the computer is upstairs in a separate bedroom. Part of me LOVES it because it is less easy to just plop myself down on the computer every 30 minutes to check my email obsessively. On the other hand, I also don't like it for that very reason. I guess I have become too dependent on my computer/email/iTunes (never!) and checking our bank account to make sure nothing bounces. Judge us why don't you.

So this post is going to be a smorgasbord of what is on my mind.

  • TV
  • My back
  • Good books
  • Fall
  • Unpacking
  • Hair styles
So the "good" TV season is coming up. I'm not going to pretend that I haven't been waiting since May for it. Isn't it kind of pathetic? I can see some of you reading this thinking "tsk tsk RaeLynn--you should be reading your scriptures and making emergency kits for children in Uganda". But seriously--everybody needs a little TV to numb the mind...uh, entertain you. I'm just curious what everybody's "must see" shows are. Are you a closet fan of The Bachelor?

Now that I work at home, I am sitting in a chair for about 4 hours every night. It isn't an expensive chair by any means, and my back/butt are really starting to ache. (Mostly my neck and back). No, I don't want to go to a chiropractor--they are kooky. I just want someone to deliver a VERY expensive chair to my doorstep. Please?

Tonight I tried sitting on one of these for the last hour and it was nice. I got some exercises done that I'm too embarrassed to mention here. But I felt productive :) Any other exercise suggestions for sitting on a big ball for a few hours?

I absolutely love this book.

If you need a motivational, easy read, this is the book for you. I read it in 2 days (this is big for me people...I like to take my time). But it was a complete page turner from the very beginning. It's about a woman who lost several children in the most devastating ways & how she turned her sorrow into an outlet for her to do a complete 180 on her physical, spiritual and emotional health. She went from a couch potato to a marathon runner (her words, not mine). I can't wait to read it again. I feel like I could use the inspiration right now.

Fall is in the air and I am giddy. My good friend Val coined a phrase that I have adopted. "I just got an excitement bug".

You know the feeling. A little jump in your stomach or a little butterfly of excitement. I've been getting "excitement bugs" this whole week. I'm ready to bust out the fall scented candles, wear sweaters, go to pumpkin patches and go take pictures of all the beautiful leaves. Fall is the time of year that reminds me the most how beautiful this world is...and how lucky we are to be a part of it. Sure, I love summer--but FALL is the best. Hands down.

Unpacking is like losing weight. At first, you are REALLY motivated and you can't wait to start seeing progress. You do really well at first and are SO proud of your achievements. Somehow, you start to lose steam. It gets harder and harder to reach your goal and the last few boxes (pounds) are almost impossible to get rid of! Just had to get that analogy out there.

Lastly, I am in a hair slump. My hair is totally at that awkward stage where it isn't "long" per se, but it's not short and styled. Or cute. Baa! What do I do? My brother sent me this picture from a couple years ago and I really like my hair like this...but I want to grow it out. I can't believe I'm really asking for feedback on my blog about my HAIR of all things. I guess I'm really vain. But seriously--Yay? Nay?

Rae, my dear, I worked with this AWESOME physical therapist after I graduated, who let me tap into his brain and get maybe 1% of it down. Lucky for you, that 1% was about backs. Let me help you! Write me (jodikidd@yahoo.com), and I will seriously come and help! (And if I can't, it will be a great excuse to come and see you and your cute kid!:))

Excitement bug! Love it! =)
I really like your hair lately Rae (from all the pictures I've seen). I think you should let it grow. When I get bored, I cut bangs! YAY FOR BANGS! hahahah "my hair is so now!" (name the movie) =)

I say go for it and cut your hair. I think it looks so cute. We still need to get together sometime. It feels like I haven't seen you forever!

It's okay, I'm excited for fall TV too. I've been TOO productive, now I need to sit and be lazy! :o)

I like your hair either way. I do the same thing. I get bored or it gets to a weird phase where it doesn't seem like it's growing, so I cut it. I would say, do what is easier for you. If it is easier to maintain it long, keep it long. If it is easier to do when it is short, cut it!

What company do you work for?

Okay so I saw the picture of you at the bottom and yelled out CUTE HAIR before I read that you didn't just get your haircut. Your hair is WAY cute in that pic and it makes me want to cut mine. But I'm trying to grow mine out too - I think - until I see cute hair like that and reach for the scissors...Fortunatly the girl that cuts my hair is booked until November so I can't do anything crazy.

p.s. is that COLE in the pic with you?

LOL! Sorry I don't know who Nat is but I just got this hilarious image of some lady randomly yelling at her computer screen, "CUTE HAIR!" And now I am randomly laughing at my computer screen...

ps-Go short! I am in love with it! I too am looking forward to dusting off all my winter clothes and bundling up again. Fall is THE best season of all. How is work going anyway?

I am in a hair funk too. I'm trying to grow it out but it's really not cute and I'm tired of being patient. Your hair is cute short but if you stick with me we can be in a hair funk together.

Oh, and this actually isn't Cole--it's my nephew Spencer.

Now I'm getting too many conflicting opinions about the hair! Can't you all just agree?! Sheesh.

I totally agree about packing. I seriously unpacked like 20 boxes a day at first, and now I'm proud of myself if I get 2 boxes done in the same day (and I think, this room looks too empty without the boxes sitting around.) Maybe someday I'll really be cardboard free! And I LOVE me some TV: I'm a die hard Bones, House, NCIS, Survivor and AI fan. And your hair is SUPER cute in that picture -- go for it!

Short haircut is cute, but I think you should let it grow longer. You have thick, sexy hair.
Um, I'm DYING for the Office to come back on. That is my TV addiction.
I love that hair cut on your beautiful face. i tried for years to grow my hair and always ended up cutting it because i knew it looked good short. i've gone more than two years without more than trimming my hair and really treating it well and it's longer than it has ever been before. it was totally worth it! so if you want your hair long, but are hating the in between stage, just treat your hair great, say nice things to it every day (prenatal vitamins help, too) and keep on keepin' on!!

Oh my, why haven't I checked in for so long...? I love your hair in this picture!
so behind on people's blogs! but i love your hair short. growing it takes forever and i hate the awkward point, too. do what you want and what will make you feel like your glamorous self. perhaps cut bangs, curl them under, and pose with a napkin?

love your new tuesday bit!

What I mean is, I like the short hair...I, like others, thought "How cute" before I read the part about your hair dilema.
