ARCHULETA CONCERT RAMBLES

ARCHULETA CONCERT RAMBLES
Before I begin, let me just say that while under the influence of Archulator, I cannot be held accountable for my actions. This post will contain lots of CAPS LOCK and lots of exclamation points!!! Please try to understand my lack of self control.
I think I’m just going to do this in a bullet format because I won’t have to make too much sense of my jumbled mind. I just got home from the concert and I think I might be deaf. For REAL. Utahns know how to wail. David even said that after the A.I. tour was over, all the idols were saying that the Utah crowd was the best (and the loudest, heh) So back to my bullets.
- I might be deaf. I almost lost my voice from screaming and I think my retina detached from the sound of being 2 feet away from the speakers—therefore I am also blind. Deaf, mute and blind. Nice. The things I do for David.
- Before the show started there were taunting us endlessly with lights coming on, people coming out on stage, and other such nonsense. Also, the concert began at 7:30 and David didn’t even come on until 9:00. We should have gone to a movie. Although, in all fairness, the opening acts were really good.
- David is so cute and little. It’s amazing how much voice he has. It’s also amazing to me how much emotion he has in his little 18 year old heart. He’s so young and “inexperienced” in worldly ways yet he can connect with the audience in such a real, genuine way. Example: He’s never had a girlfriend or been in love, yet he sings a love song like he’s singing it for someone specific. He sings a breakup song like he’s been dumped, etc.
- Did I mention it was loud? Shrieking. Screaming. Yelling.
- Anyone who thinks the E-center was full of teens would have been surprised. On the right of Danny there was a 70 year old guy with a cane and his wife. On my left was a mother and a grown daughter. Right in front of me was a guy who looked about 50. My point: he appeals to more than just tweens.
- I loved when he came out on stage and yelled “UTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH”!!
- He just kept saying how grateful he was for all of us coming out to the show and how insane this was to him. His hometown and here were all these crazy people losing their voices from cheering him on. Yes, I was one of them!
- I screamed a lot.
- His encore was “A Thousand Miles” and “Angels”. *SIGH*. Angels is my favorite. He sings it with such conviction and it was the last song he sang for the night. I have to admit that for the first time, I got a little emotional. I didn’t cry or anything (I SWEAR) but I just kept thinking about how he is living his dream. He is 18 years old and living his DREAM. How many people can say that? I can guarantee you that 80% (if not more) of 18 year olds don’t have a dang clue what they want to do with their lives when they grow up. It’s just so cool to me that at such a young age, he’s already there. He’s doing what he loves.
- We had awesome seats. 10 rows away from the stage.
- Aside from the encore the BEST SONG OF THE NIGHT was “Zero Gravity”. This is a song that didn’t make the album and I don’t know why. I can think of a couple songs they could have cut to make this a single. Seriously—this needs to be his next single. The ENTIRE place was jumping around. I kept hitting the lady’s butt next to me. Dah well. Hope she didn’t mind. He was jumping all over the stage and running back and forth. We got really into it and everyone was seriously moshing (minus the guy with the cane, bless him).
- I danced a lot.
- I only took a couple videos because I wanted to just enjoy the concert and not worry so much about getting the right angle. Besides, he was wearing a white shirt and with the spotlight on him, he looks like an unrecognizable figure. Oh, an angel. Duh Rae.
- After the concert while we were walking out, it smelled like stinky butts. You know, like the smell of sweaty butts because people have been sitting on a plastic chair for 3 hours and they are just getting some air.
- I stood up a lot.
- I have heartburn right now. Isn’t that weird?
- You HAVE to see David live. I know YouTube videos are fun and cool but it’s seriously NOT EVEN CLOSE to hearing him live. His voice is impossible to describe. It just pours into every little nook and cranny of the venue. It’s so full and smooth. Bah!
- I can’t think of anything else right now. Maybe tomorrow something else will pop in my mind.
- This was worth EVERY RED CENT we paid for it. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, he’s headed to Asia next month. Maybe I’ll make a trip to Mongolia. What if?
- My head is pounding from the sound and my heart is still trying to nestle back into my body. The speakers were jostling my heart around inside with my innards.
- Wow, I barely used any exclamation points!!!! CHEERS FOR ME.
- Oh yeah! He sang in Spanish. HOLA! That was awesome. Muy bien.

LEt me just say that they were two very different concerts. I liked them for diff reasons. The dixie one was not well advertised, so there were so many empty seats and not as many screaming fans....In fact, my fam was the only screaming ones ( we stood out so much, the police excorted us home ---another story for my post--HATE his manager by the way)
I loved how everyone was SCREAMING and hated it at the same time. He was so dang cute. It seamed like he got WORN OUT a while heck of a lot more at SAlT LAKE ( understandably so)....He did not move around and bounce and do this move I died over as much.
The only reason I was evena little dissapointed in Salt Lake was cause it was really hard to hear him...Don't get me wrong, i was screaming and singing to the top of my lungs as much, if not more than the rest of them.
It was more fun just enjoying everyone freaking out. So different in his home town.
So, this is your blog, so I will stop...But I wish I would have had internet and known you were at the concert. We were on the LEFT side...LOVE that you got to go!!
