Super Quick

I'm just going to throw this out there for the non-Facebook users or for anyone who didn't happen to see my earlier post about this (on Facebook).  I am starting a weight-loss contest that begins this Friday.  I sent out an email to those who expressed interest in joining.  I'm just going to paste a copy of the message and if you want in--let me know before Friday! :) Wahooo.  For the millionth time, I'm going to try and lose some dang weight!


The email:

So, if you're interested in doing this--here's what we'll do. We have to keep this fair for everyone so that everybody has an equal shot at winning the money.

I think if we all put $10 into a pot, after 8 weeks whoever has the highest percentage of weight loss should win. We can split up the money to the top 2 or just do a grand prize to the winner. What do you think?

If we can get 20 people to do this, we can make the prize $200!!

Since we can't all use the same scale--we'll have to use the honor code (leave now if you will lie) haha...but seriously...So use the exact same scale every time you weigh in. We will all weigh in on the same day. Weigh yourself at the same time of day each week.

Basically the only rules are these:

1. No diet pills of ANY kind. It's just good old exercise and nutritious eating.
2. You have to be honest.

If after 8 weeks we want to do it again, we will. I KNOW I won't get to my goal weight after just 8 weeks but I wanted to set a small goal so that we have something to work towards. Sound reasonable?

I'm going to use the website www.fitday.com to chart my progress because it seems to have everything I could want to help me. If everyone here trusts me, I will hold the money until the winner is announced so if you can all send me $10 cash we can get this going...If you are in--let me know and I'll send you my address. Each week on weigh-in day, everyone will send me your % of weight loss. You don't have to tell anyone how much you weigh or show anyone before pictures, BUT I think taking before and after pictures are really helpful.

ANYwho, whether you want to lose 10 pounds or 75 pounds (hi--me) this will be good motivation for all of us!

Any other thoughts/concerns?

I think we should start this Friday for our first weigh-in. If we do weigh-ins every Friday, we can have a free day over the weekend.
