Ever since "Creepy Crawly" week at summer camp, Cole has developed this totally crazy and irrational fear of flies, bees, and every other type of bug. It has been really bad lately. It's not that he freezes up around them, he full on screams, starts to shake, and hyperventilate. I feel so bad for him. I was kind of at a loss for what to do for him. So for FHE last Monday we talked about the creation and how God created "every creeping thing that creepeth". Then we read a couple fun books about flies and bees. They made Cole laugh and he was AMAZED that honey comes from bees. He couldn't wait "to tell Mrs. Blackwing tomorrow that honey comes from bees". Then we colored pictures of bees and I think it may have done the trick (for now). Today Cole thought he saw a bee in the house, and calmly asked me to kill it. This was a huge difference in how he would have reacted a week ago so I'm feeling hopeful. Afterwards he got REALLY slap happy. It was pretty late and Danny really got him going.
I love how his head is thrown back and he's just genuinely laughing his guts out.
