Hair Update

This is obviously very important to me.  Usually when I go in for a haircut I say, "just make me look good" because I go to people who I trust.  This time I'm feeling especially needy.  I want it to look GOOD.  My cousin Sheena sent me some links to help me figure out what to do :) I took some measurements (don't mock or judge) and I am a square face, which I already knew, but had to reaffirm.  Did you know there are certain hairstyles that will emphasize the positives of your face and then there are haircuts that are not flattering? Yeah, like the pixie cut theory.  Turns out I was right...

So, square faces...the biggest suggestion was this: layers, layers and more layers.  No matter what length (as long as it at LEAST touches the shoulders) is layers.  So now it's just a matter of how much I want to chop and if I can really spend the time to make myself look good.  Now that I'll have a little more free time, hopefully I can figure out how to actually style my hair. heh.

Behold my options:
Beyonce looks good no matter WHAT.

I hate that I just posted a picture of HER on my blog, but you have to admit, she has killer locks.

She is gorgeous.  Period.  No wonder Simon Cowell wanted her on X Factor...

She looks like she has thick hair (which is another HUGE concern for me...my hair is THIIIICK).

I like how the crown of her head has volume...

I like Carrie's bangs a bit longer.  I'm leaning towards this one at this point.  Not too curly, not too ratty, not too greasy, not too...Paris Hilton.

Then of course there's all the examples below of the longer hairstyles.  Gahhh.  Someone decide for me.

whenever i get crazy and cut my hair to where it's too short for it all to go up evenly in a ponytail, i always regret it. however, that's because i N E V E R do my hair, and a ponytail is where it's at for me. though i have been doing thirteen-year old girl pigtail braids lately on my hair.

anyway- my vote is for not-too-short bangs (cause they're annoying), and keep your hair long enough to do big curls cause that looks good on you.

I think Carrie Underwood's 'do would be perfect! I can totally see you in that.

I also have super thick hair, and what SAVES me is that my hair stylist (I've been going to the same one for the last five years!) thins it out for me everytime. I think any hair-do will work if you have it thinned out!

But I do love that layered curly look. *sighs* It's beautiful!

My vote is for "the Carrie" too!....maybe because bangs drive ME nuts and EACH AND EVERY time I have cut them.....I HAVE HATED THEM!!! And then you have to spend a year growing them out!

BTW....if I could look like anyone...it would totally be Kate Beckinsale....yep.....she's my girl-crush (& her hair is BEAUTIFUL). So you could go for her look too....but then I might hit on you ;)

Good luck!!
I vote carrie...You have gorgeous hair and if you can find a quick easy way to add simple curles it would be fantastic. some old school hot rollers or a big round brush. Maybe you could donate some of your fab hair to me. I am volume challenged.

Great comments! Holly--totally funny because Carrie Underwood is my crush. I seriously want to look exactly like her. :) And I'm pretty sure that when I'm resurrected I'll actually look that good...

Please just keep in mind that none of these girls does there own hair (at least in these pics) and half of them also have extensions. Having said that, you have such gorgeous hair you could do these do's naturally. I totally think you should grow it out like Kate Beckinsale's. (She's my girl crush too so I might be bias :)

Don't cut your hair short! You'll totally regret it. I had the Meg Ryan You've Got Mail hair for a while and it was the worst thing ever. You're totally Carrie Underwood...and your hair looks AWESOME no matter what. I always say I'm growing my hair out and it never gets longer than my shoulders. I'd kill for hair like yours!
