A first

First grade, first time taking a bus to school, first time going to public school after two years with Mom at AHSJ and this is also his first day of school at the new Elementary school.  I felt kind of sick watching Cole drive off in that bus...why am I trusting some random stranger to make sure my little boy gets to school safely? I asked Cole if he wanted me to drive him or if he wanted to ride the bus.  I shouldn't have given him the option :) I know him well enough to know that he would have picked the bus!

I have been so blessed to be able to be such a big part of Cole's educational experience thus far. I loved being at the same school as him! It was so nice to know his teacher, get to eat lunch with him, see him at recess and in the halls, etc.  I felt content knowing he was safe and happy.  I know I will struggle with this transition much more than he will.  He already knows his teacher, knows his way to his classroom and knows right where to sit and hang up his backpack :) He is READY.  And I am a blubbering fool. But do not fear...I signed up to be his room mom so he can't get rid of me...bwahahaha!!
