I blame Pinterest...or should I thank it?

So apparently Pinterest is the next big thing.  Of course, I cannot be excluded from this.  I've been told about it by lots of people but I honestly resisted.  I didn't want to get roped into something that I KNEW would abuse my addictive personality and get me to waste time on the computer.  So naturally, I joined after a few weeks of seeing the hype grow.

Well.  So far this has been a good thing.  I've been able to limit my time and I've also been really inspired.  Sounds cheesy, I know.  I'm discovering that I'm a pretty cheesy person.  Take or leave it friends :) (But please take it because I really like my friends).

I've come across a few blogs that have totally inspired me to change.  This is what got me to start doing some major organizing in our office.  We also have some smaller spaces that need some attention. We don't have a lot of space so I'm trying to find ways to maximize what we have.  This is one of my new favorite blogs:

People who know how I keep my house on a regular basis probably think I don't have a clue about organizing or how to keep things orderly.  However, let me just say that when I was younger, my room was almost always spotless (and since that was the only thing in my realm of real responsibility I take great pride in that fact).  Honest. Ask my Mom. I was always rearranging my furniture, organizing my nick-knacks and re-folding my blankets.  Kind of a nerd.  At some point along the way, I just lost the motivation to keep it up because I got busier and then I started accumulating more stuff than I knew what to do with. That elephant didn't seem worth biting off even one small bite at a time.

Welp, what better time than now to take a bite? My tastes and styles have changed dramatically (thank the heavens above) and thanks to the internet and blogs like the one above, I have been inspired to make some necessary changes.  They seem pretty attainable and dare I say it...fun?

Here's the dealio.  I found this challenge on a blog called The Nester (also a great blog for organizing ideas). I want to try it out.

Here's the jist:

A commitment to writing about ONE topic, every day in the month of October. Seems easy enough right? Ha! I do like a good challenge though.  (Do you think that 5K was easy for this chubby girl? No.)

My topic? Practical ways to organize.
Nice and simple.  One day at a time. One project at a time. No time commitments, no topics I can't handle.  I'm just going to do ONE thing each day that will help me organize my life...and then blog about it.

I can do this! Anyone want to join me?
