Goodbye Rose Creek
Ahh, Rose Creek. It seems like just yesterday I was dropping Cole off at his first day of third grade and figured we'd be moving within a month or two. The joke was on me. I even hesitated sending Cole with box tops because I wanted to save them for wherever we ended up. After several months, I caved and sent 100+ box tops to school with Cole.
Rose Creek was good to us. I can't really complain. I wasn't as involved as I was at Fox Hollow but that's my own fault. Cole got excellent "grades" {or whatever they call it nowadays in Elementary School} and he seemed happy so I can't really ask for more than that. It has been such a bonus for Cole that he got to see Nate at school when they were both on-track at the same time. They'd eat together at lunch sometimes and play together at recess almost always. I'm glad he had a little buddy right off the bat.
I decided to go hang out on Field Day since I've missed all the class parties and other events that I would have gone to if I didn't have an infant at home. I'm glad I went. It was fun to watch Cole interact with his classmates and get an idea of what he's like outside the house...when Mom's not around :)
And this is how he acts...when I am around, so I probably don't want to know what he's like when I'm gone...
It was a dang hot day. Caleb wasn't impressed.
The Riverton firefighters were there to drench the living daylights out of the kids.
They loved it.
They also signed autographs in their "yearbooks".
He'll deny it 'til the day he dies {probably} but here he is exchanging autographs with the "cutest girl in the third grade"...aka his crush. But I'm not allowed to call it that because girls are "gross".
Caleb was a celebrity. They were fawning over him the entire time and touching him, squishing his feet and calling his name in little baby voices. I had to take him home and hose him down to get all the stinky third grader germs off of him. If only I had a firehose...
