A slice of heaven

Lion House Banana Bread. It's delicious. I'm not sure how long this recipe has been around, but it's the best dang banana bread I've ever tasted (thanks for showing me how to do things right, Mom!) This was me yesterday "Ah shoot--the bananas are too ripe to eat. Shucks, what should we do?"

But wait--I know what to do. Voila.

LION HOUSE BANANA BREAD

1/2 C Marg or Butter
1 C Sugar
2 eggs
1 C Mashed bananas
1/4 C Milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 C Flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
**optional** 1/2 C Chopped nuts

Cream marg and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add bananas, milk and lemon juice (do not mix it at this point). In separate container sift dry ingredients and add to the mixture. Add nuts and blend well. Bake in well greased 8x4x3 loaf pan. 350 degrees for 1 hour. Yield: 1 loaf

I'm not a fan of the nuts so I steer clear of those--but either way this recipe gets me every time.

I was just about to throw 4 beautifully browned bananas in the garbage because I didn't want to make bread with them... but now I am going to HAVE to try this recipe! Thanks!

Hey, I will have to try this bread! Looks delicious! Ben Springer is my husbands first cousin. Kye's dad and Dana Springer are brother and sister. It's fun to see them all the time. They are a riot!

I'm back and I made it and it's SO delicious. My boys want to thank you! We are eating warm banana bread, drinking eggnog and watching are you smarter than a 5th grader. Does it get better than that? You were inspired to post the recipe! Thanks.
