I'm a slacker

It's funny how with the blog craze that has come upon us--I feel like I already know what is going on in many of your lives. Of course, I still LOVE getting Christmas letters and cards in the mail. In fact, I got one today that made my day. It reminded me that this year we have tried to simplify. Not necessarily out of desire, but more out of necessity. We aren't doing gifts for each other, and it's really not a big deal. (Most days) And we don't have a Christmas tree up, because we know Cole well enough that he would have a little too much fun with it, and probably burn the place down in the process. But I have done a Christmas Letter every year since we've been married, and I was bummed about leaving that out too. It's the postage that gets me. Really--even if I only sent out 10 cards, that is over $4.00 in postage. I know you all know this, but this year we just had to cut back. So, in joking around with my sister-in-law Angie, I decided that I would create a letter, and if you are as hardcore about Christmas Letters as I am, you can print it out and put it with the rest of your letters! I know this is totally ghetto, and the joke was that I WOULDN'T really do it, but after thinking about it, I thought it wasn't THAT bad of an idea. So read it, or print it, or just let your eyes glaze over while you stare...it's fine by me. I just needed to get that off my chest. Oh, and obviously you have to click on it to see it large enough to read. Merry Christmas!

Wow! You are so awesome...I always say I'm going to simplify but one thing always leads to another and it seems to fly out the window! Good for you!

Great idea! Yes, I'm totally hardcore so I printed it - now it will be hanging proudly with the other cards & letters we've received.

good for you for actually simplifying - so many people say they will - but you really have - and even this small way of not sending out cards/letters can save you a ton! i love your christmas letter and it's just as good to read it on your blog. merry christmas! :)
