My bake-a-thon
I really enjoy baking. Well, I enjoy the fruits of my labor. And I really like giving people the fruits of my labor. I somehow got really pumped up this year to bake my brains out for some friends and neighbors. I knew I had some winning recipes, and I am all about Christmas goodies...so I began to bake. 4 loaves of banana bread, a pan of brownies, toffee crunch bars and about 500 chocolate-covered pretzels later, I was exhausted. {I don't want to forget that Danny helped melt the chocolate and dip the pretzels--please who are we kidding, he did 75% of that project}. I really wanted to take a "before" picture of our kitchen just so you could see proof of how many pans, pots, dishes and bakeware I durtied in this process. It was INSANE. Finally, after 24 hours of just staring at it, and being overwhelmed by it all, I cleaned up the cursed mess. It was really fun {yeah right}, and my hands looked like prunes when I was done--but the final picture you see here is all the CLEAN dishes. That doesn't include what was in the dishwasher. Honestly, it's a good thing people only do this once a year...I need about 364 days to recover.

P.S. I HATE the clean-up after baking, too! I hate dishes so much that is almost makes me not want to bake. Almost.
