Many of you already know that we've gotten rid of our main phone number: my cell phone. We decided to do it for several reasons, really--it wasn't just to save money. To be sure--the number 1 reason we were doing it was to save money, but aside from that there were other reasons. I remember a time in my life when I could barely part with the dang thing. I received probably well over 25 calls a day, just from friends/family and classmates going to College with me. What happened in the last 7 or so years? I don't know--but I do know that I LOVE not having a cell phone. Yeah, I'll probably regret saying that in the next week, but so far, it has been wonderful. If I have to run an errand, I can't be reached...and it's kind of nice! When I'm out driving, it won't distract me from paying attention to the road, and I like that too. Now believe me when I say that we kept Danny's phone because he's on a family plan with his family and the cost is
minimal. We felt like we'd better have one on hand for when we drive long distances, are going to be apart all day, or other extenuating circumstances. But so far, I am lovin' it. If you don't have our new phone number, email me at ebayrae(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll email it to you. It will probably be the best way to get ahold of us...but don't throw out Danny's number. Anyway, I do feel a little bit of freedom, and I won't have to hear my cell phone go off in the bathroom at IKEA or in the checkout stand at the grocery store. It is one very small way that I have simplified my life, and saved money doing it. Our friend David runs a couple very good websites. One of them called
LivSimpl has a plethora of ways to simplify, organize and de-stress your life. You better believe I read it.
There is an entry on his blog about cell phones and at
least turning them off. However, the URL wasn't changing when I wanted to hyperlink it to my site. It is under the "Tech" and "Work" topics.

For those who don't know (which I assume is just about everyone) LivSimpl is all about "simplifying life and enjoying the little things we often overlook."
I'm trying to build up some readership so please stop by, take a peek and let me know what you think.
Thanks!
