"It's not what you know, but who you know". And isn't it the truth? With 1 exception--every single job I have ever had was because I knew somebody who had a connection. (Did I mention I won the "Most jobs since High School" Award at my 10 year reunion?) AWKWARD...Anyway, I'm just sayin'...I've had plenty of jobs and it is all because I have used my connections. But this post really isn't supposed to be about me...Some of you may know that Danny is looking for a new job. If you didn't know--he is. Don't tell his employer or you're dead meat. Here's the jist: We are paying way too much moolah for health insurance. Danny enjoys his job but we both know that something's gotta give.

Here's where we need your help. Danny is looking for a job with a reputable company. One with good benefits. He is looking for something in the realm of computers/design/web/stuff like that. He has built a couple websites from scratch with extremely limited time and practically ZERO money:

www.DandRDesigns.net

www.WhiteWeddingCakes.com

He has experience (and some college courses) in Flash, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Illustrator, HTML, Web Design, Desktop Publishing, Quark, and he is an internet MASTER. He is also bilingual (Spanish) and is hilarious (which should probably be the focus of any respectable resume). Most importantly he is a hard worker and is dependable and honest.

Danny said it would be OK to blog that we are looking because what better way to get the word out? I'm sure he is a bit embarrassed though, because he's a humble guy and would NEVER EVER EVER toot his own horn. Just let us know if you have any brilliant ideas or connections out there. When we are rich {and most likely famous} we will remember you!

Hey Rae, has he checked out the church job postings? I know that the magazines are often looking for "techy" people for online stuff with the church. You can't go wrong working for the church - no working on Sundays, GREAT benifits, good work environment. I'll ask Paul how to check out job postings...

I don't know much about internet stuff...I'd love to help. He could help work on a bank intranet or something but idk if he'd like that.

it's all about WHO you know. I wish we could help. If I found Danny a job in Vegas, will you move?

We will definitely keep our ears open and eyes peeled!

My husband is one of those people that can find other people jobs. Here is the website for State jobs. Some of them do not pay the greatest but the benefits are to die for. We pay less than $30 a month for our whole family health and dental!

Oh and there is an IT specialist job at the labor commision (which just so happens to be where Ben used to work). There is your connection!!!

Hey Rae!

Saw your post on Janet's blog, and I'm still alive!! I live in Texas with my husband and two kids.

My parents moved to Murray about four years ago, so I didn't know anything about the reunion until I blog stalked Janet. I'm so sad I missed it! Looks like you guys did an awesome job!

Hope you are doing great!

Ok, so does he have a 4 yr degree in one of those items listed above?

If so, you need to email me. I have a great suggestion for him.

@ Nat--We did look at the church's website. It didn't look like they were hiring specifically for anything that Danny would qualify for.

@ Janet--Yes

@ Janessa--Great idea! Thanks.

@ Wallace Family--we need to talk!!

@ Dee...he doesn't have a 4 year degree. He has 2 associates. blast.
