Cowabunga Bay

Our dentist is pretty rad. He sent out postcards to all his patients worth a FREE entry to the newest water park in Utah called Cowabunga Bay. We felt pretty cool since our wrist bands said VIP. That's right...don't mess with us. We see Dr. Rigby...and we've given him thousands of dollars in dental care work so that we could get in for one afternoon to this water park. :)

Danny and I had a fantastic time...too bad Cole didn't. He was miserable for about 3.75 of the 4 hours we were there. Poor guy. Danny and I got to ride the slides, float the lazy river, wade in the shallow end and soak in the sun. We had no choice but to leave Cole in the car because he was ruining all our fun...actually he finally calmed down enough to float the river with us (and I use the term "river" loosely) and we were finally able to get him into a life jacket and see him smile in the shallow entry of the pool.

One of the coolest things about the park was this massive bucket that would fill with 1 ton of water. When the bucket was full, you'd hear a dinging sound and it would dump water onto the crazy people courageous enough to stand under it.

I love how in the picture with Danny and Cole in front of the slides, Cole is sucking his thumb and frowning...perfectly indicative of his afternoon. Hey, Danny and I had a great time. A bunch of people have asked us if we'd recommend it. Here's what I think:

Pros
Free use of tubes
Free use of life jackets
Not too big
Close to where we live (heh, sorry if you don't live in Riverton)

Cons
Small enough that paying for a full day wouldn't be worth it. You can buy 4 hour passes which is plenty of time
Kind of pricey for what you get (but it's worth going once)

So take that how you may. We had fun but don't expect little kids to love it. There is obviously a lot of splashing water.

Have yu guys ever been to the Oquirrh Park Fitness Center in Kearns? I think its about the PERFECT water Park. Great kids area that adults could even have some fun in. A few big slides for adults, inside and outside pools etc...for a very reasonable price. Its not Seven Peaks but its pretty dang great.

How fun!!! We went to the Oquirrh Park Fitness center saturday and it had a similiar bucket doo-hickey. Anyway, the only reason I tell you that is because Gracie had an EQUALLY miserable time- it's like "what the heck will make you happy, child?" If a giant bathtub with a gazillion little toys and qadgets doesn't do it, I just can't think of what will. :) Well, I am glad you guys had a good time- I think next time WE will leave Gracie in the car ;) ;)

I'be been curious about this place. Keigan was all over the video you posted. Sounds like a fun day for you and Danny! Too bad Cole didn't enjoy it. Maybe next year?
