It's sneaking up

I can't believe it's almost here.  I know it's still the first week of October but this month flies by.  I've been wanting to do something creative for Cole's costume.  Usually I get so distracted by other things that by the time he needs a costume I get totally stressed out trying to think of something unique.  That usually ends with trying to find something on sale that actually fits him or running to the thrift store and crossing my fingers.  Being creative can definitely be less expensive but it takes PLANNING.  Something that I'm still working on. But seriously, where do some people come up with this stuff?

Can anyone guess what this is? I mean--obviously not the face...but that wig? Isn't that CREEPY?!! Isn't it kind of sad when your hairstyle is so well known that people use it as a Halloween costume? Actually--I guess that's how you know you're an icon (to someone).

This one just makes me happy.  I love the wrapper twist on the head.  Maybe I can force Cole to hold still so I can carry him around in this little Tootsie Roll costume..

That reminds me! Danny has a HILARIOUS story about when he was a kid that I want him to share on here.  Let's put it this way, it has to do with cotton balls, rubber cement and being a werewolf.  I'm smiling just thinking about it.

So, I need your help.  Where do you guys come up with ideas for costumes? I guess there are websites out there that I can look around at.  I need something inexpensive but cute.  And something that doesn't take any time.  Kidding.

I love the tootsie roll costume. If you get Cole to wear that you are simply amazing!
When you find a good one let me know. I love Halloween, and I get so excited about the idea of dressing my boys up, but when it comes down to it, I hate spending money on one costume that I'm not even sure they will wear for one night. What a pickle!

We are fans of Yo Gabba Gabba, and I saw some super cute Brobee and DJ Lance costumes, but that is if I decide to fork over the money.

Last year I went web-surfing for ideas and found that "boxer" idea for Odan. Hopefully I will get the time and luck to find something super easy again. I'll let you know how it goes!

I am SO with you! I HATE figuring out Halloween costumes - at least for me and Brant - I don't mind as much for Beau - Really it is just me that I hate figuring them out for - lol - Good Luck. I googled yesterday cheap halloween costume ideas and saw some funny ones.

Go to Zurchers or a party supply store. They have tons of hats and accessories for cheap that you could totally make into a costume. They had the cutest race car driver helmets for like three bucks. Cole would be a cute race car driver. Good luck!
So who is the wig supposed to be?

Greg, the wig is Kate Gosselin...from Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Rae, you should check out FamilyFun.com and look at their halloween section. They even have "last minute" ideas, heh. I didn't look, but I know in the past they have had stuff that's pretty easy to put together and relatively cheap. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!
Ah, I recognize it now. Yeah, she does have crazy hair.

I'm all about ebay for costumes. I've bought Maddy's off of there every year. Of course probably a lot of people are buying right now, so it might not end up being all that cheap (I try to do it off season). But it's worth a look. This year Maddy is going as Little Red Riding Hood, I'm the Granny, and John is the Wolf. Yeah, we're that family. lol. Couldn't Cole go as a piece of coal? (wear all black) LOL i'm so not funny
