The Bloody Nose

I'm not sure when it happened but Cole has become terrified of blood.  Especially if it is his own.  Today he was (disobediently) jumping on my bed when his knee hit his nose and it started to bleed. He bonked it pretty good.  Immediately some drops of blood started coming out of his nose and he went ballistic.  He immediately started to panic and was crying...it was so sad (but secretly I was a teensy bit glad because I knew it would teach him not to jump on my bed!) 


I had to get in the shower so I wasn't late for work so my Mom offered to help out and she had this handy little nose press thingy.  It was so funny.  Cole was nervously laughing as she put it on and then we had him lay his head back on the pillow. He seriously didn't move a MUSCLE.  I don't even think he was breathing...he was laying SO still so as not to start spraying blood around the room, I'm sure.  THEN as if that wasn't enough, my Mom decides to wrap up some tissue and "block off the artery" from where the blood flows by stuffing his front lip full of tissue.  Poor Cole. I was trying so hard not to laugh but it's hard when he's half laughing himself.

By the time he was dry, he was laughing about it already.  That kid.  He's just so happy about 90% of the time. He most definitely has his moments but overall, he just makes me smile :)
