Easter Weekend

was blustery but that didn't stop us from celebrating the RIGHT way...with an Easter egg hunt in the backyard (with a total of 10 "legit" hiding places).  Cole wasn't that impressed with the eggs that were hidden in the grill (and that was one of the "10").

We were small in number this year and missed our out of state cousins :(

This picture kills me.  Those dimples, the eyes...the whole deal.

Aunts Amanda and Kambree jump in to help dye the eggs.

Cole paints one of his eggs a nasty mix of yellow and purple.  This is where I have to hold the obsessive side of me back and let him be a kid.  I want it to be beautiful and symmetrical.  Aesthetically pleasing and award worthy.  This'll have to suffice.

He's happy and that's all that matters.

Cole and Gracie playing on Papa's chair

Cole is all about giving hugs and squeezes the life out of Gracie.  Is this face not frightening?

I should have just dropped the camera and come to her rescue but it was too entertaining.  Am I a bad Aunt?

Gracie ditches Cole after she regains consciousness and he wonders why he's sitting alone...hmmmm

Kambree, the domestic Goddness is making PB&Js for the crowd.  She's so good to us.

I am playing with Hannah like she's a baby doll--'cause that's pretty much what she is.  A DOLL.

EASTER MORNING
The anticipation

Cole wasn't sure what to expect because we don't go all out and tell him that the Easter Bunny came to visit and yadda yadda.  We just told him that on Easter he gets a basket with some treats.  I'll do Santa and I'll even do the Tooth Fairy--but I can't bring myself to indoctrinate him with the Easter Bunny.  So judge me.

Now that Cole can feel something on his lap, the giggling begins.

And he is thrilled :)

Little does he know we took most of the candy he found from the day before and put it in his $2 basket from Walmart.  He probably also didn't realize that the "chocolate" bunny that cost $1 was more wax than chocolate...but he loved it anyway.  I did get him some better candy but no bikes, scooters or Easter Dresses.  (Not this year anyway, I might get desperate one of these times).

Another candy from Gma and Papa Miller (from the previous day, haha)

The next weekend we spend a beautiful day at Sugar House Park for Uncle Kalani's birthday...and Danny "plays" with Cole by molding his face like a blob of clay.

Strangely enough--Cole seems to enjoy this "game".

My babies

I decided to try growing something besides my hair and got these little starter plants from the dollar section at Target.  Aren't they cute?

Please enjoy this picture because the parsley is now dead.

This one however, is doing quite well.  I can't even remember what it is.  I'll have to take a more recent picture.  I am very pleased :)

Teacher Appreciation Week

I know everyone talks about how under appreciated and under paid teachers are, but now that I am one--I can TESTIFY to that.  It's nice to be recognized for all the hard work that goes into every single day of teaching these young people.  Our school did a great job of making us feel special.  My favorite part (aside from the french toast from Kneaders--HELLO!) was these little booklets they gave us with pictures that the kids drew of us.  I was kind of afraid they'd draw me as a big round ball with little legs and arms (kind of like a snowman) but I was pleasantly surprised to see me looking rather attractive in most of them.

We also got flowers one day.  I love flowers.  They make everything bright.

GYMNASTICS

Cole has been taking gymnastics from a teacher at our school.  It's in the basement of the school which makes it SO convenient and great because he gets to do it with kids he knows. It's such a great setup.

Do you love that he had his socks still on that day?  About 3.5 seconds before I took this picture he was nervously laughing about holding on to these bars.  He's pretty intimidated with the big equipment.  He loves the mats and big squishy stuff but he kind of freaks out on the equipment.  He's getting better though.

Class Cheer

Getting some air!

Loving his life.

Cole doesn't need Teacher Appreciation Week to be considered a Hero.  It just comes naturally to him.

It takes a very creative individual to give a volleyball a matching hat :)

And finally, Cole is bribed into getting his haircut by his teacher.  It's so convenient that she can just do it after class.  Now I need the entire staff of a professional spa to come in after school and pamper me.
