Energy...gone...
I just realized that I haven't blogged about the fact that we found a place to live and we are moving on SATURDAY. We're really excited and it feels really good. We'll have a pool and a balcony plus washer/dryer hookups and a lot more. I've been comparing prices FOREVER and I'm 100% positive that we are getting the best deal for our money. It's a good feeling. So, read on...
How's this for a random post:
What a crazy week. We are moving on Saturday (WOOOOOT!!) and have spent every night staying up late packing. We have gotten rid of a ton of stuff and yet--I still want to get rid of more. Part of me just wants to get a big dumpster and chuck everything we own besides our clothes (and our beds, duh).
I took hundreds of dollars worth of scrapbook/card making stuff to school to give away. It felt so good to give stuff to teachers that could use it and to help make more room in my closet. I bought all the stuff at wholesale prices back when I was selling on eBay full time and it kind of reminds me of this psychotic time of my life. I actually feel "free" of my craziness by getting rid of that stuff. Sounds weird, but I don't feel like explaining it right now.
I had my last visit today with a woman I visit teach. She is one of the reasons I will miss this neighborhood/ward. I feel like we really "get" each other. Both working moms who are cool and funny :) but seriously--we have this strange spiritual connection that I really appreciate. It's nice to talk to someone about more than just the weather and their kids' poopy diapers.
While packing up Cole's room I'm realizing that most of the toys he plays with actually belong to Grandma Miller. He's kind of freaking out that we aren't packing everything. But he seems pretty on board with the idea of moving. He asks multiple times a day if the truck has gotten here yet, and if it's Saturday and when we get to see our new house. It's cute that he's so excited for something he may or may not really understand. I remember when we first moved here, he'd lay in bed at night and cry because he "wanted to go home" which BROKE my heart. I knew exactly what he meant and I wanted the exact same thing. Hopefully we won't have to experience that again...that was heart wrenching.
There are something like 13 more school days left and all the teachers and students are feeling it. I don't have much of a break though because then I go right into Summer Camp which will be really fun. Much more laid back than regular school but it'll still be educational and really interactive. Plus, every Friday is splash day--so OBVIOUSLY it's worth it.
Before I forget--since we gave away most of our furniture when we moved in with my parents, we are needing some stuff. Obviously we know we'll end up buying stuff but we're hoping that someone out there might have an extra one of these floating around that they don't need:
* bedside table for master bedroom
*armoir or dresser for master bedroom
* dresser for cole's room
* end tables
* washer
* dryer
* entertainment center or armoir
* dining room table & chairs
* bookshelf
Wow, looking at this list makes me realize that we basically have no furniture. We just barely bought a couch from a friend of mine so at least we'll have something to sit on while we stare at the boxes...hoping they'll unpack themselves.
