Yep folks, this is it
You know how on the first day of school it's not unusual for kids to pose on the front porch, or holding the door handle or sitting at their desk or smiling with their teacher or ANYTHING besides what we got? Well this is my nonconformist son. He wants to do EVERYTHING differently. He refused to do anything but sit on the couch for a picture. He didn't even want to stand up. When we got to school, I was immediately too busy with my own students coming in the door to walk him to class and get a picture of him at his desk. But who am I kidding--he probably would have hid under his desk if I had even gotten within 6 feet of him.
Despite his little quirks, I am so happy to see him in Expanded Kindergarten. He's doing 1st grade curriculum and they don't waste any time. He's had homework every day already. Unfortunately he's got Danny's attitude about homework (he doesn't care for it at ALL). Then there was me as kid: I'd run home and get my homework done as fast as I could because I couldn't wait to do it. Then the halo that was hovering over my head would beam brightly...

And that's a wrap.
