You make me feel so young

Yesterday we took a fun little excursion downtown SL.  I checked Cole out of school early (rebels!) and we went with Val and her girls to the JSMB to listen to West Jordan High School's concert choir perform.  I never get sick of going to the JSMB during Christmas time (or ever, really).  I also never get sick of  listening to any choir that Kelly DeHaan is directing.  The man is talented.  I was lucky enough to be in choir at West Jordan High his first year teaching and it was a treat (do 30 year olds really say that?).  The choir was AWESOME and it brought back so many happy memories.  Those days seem like so long ago.  It was such a simple and fun time of life.  Flirting with the choir boys and doing a billion Christmas concerts throughout the season.  I read a statistic somewhere that said that people who sang regularly in a choir are about 40% happier than the average person.  That is a HUGE percentage and I believe it.  Singing is good for the soul and I really miss singing in a good choir.

As always it was a fun little trip.  Thanks for the idea, Val.  Here are a few pics of our excursion.

I also gotta say that the dresses they wear now are so stylin'.  Our dresses were so NOT stylin'.

Is this Cole taking off his shoes and socks by the fountain? Why yes, yes it is.  That child.  I have chosen to pick my battles and this isn't one I wasn't willing to take on.  He was past the point of reasoning at this point.

I did, however stop him from going under the ropes at the Christus...(after taking a picture). heh.

Cole is doing this fake smile thing lately which I'm not fond of but what can you do?

I agree that I would love to listen to any choir Kelly DeHaan is directing. I was privileged to have him as my teacher all 3 years of High School. Oh, and the not so stylin dresses, at least you weren't in Singular Sensations. Our dresses made us look like nuns. We took all of our dresses and made it into a big black blanket with comments from us on it for his music room wall at home.
