Let them eat cake

Danny's most recent creation might be my favorite. He was asked by a co-worker and decided to do it taller than usual and I think it paid off. The height looks more impressive than having a shorter but wider cake. The bride loved the ruffles he did for McCall and Brad's cake so he was asked to do it again. This time in eggplant Purple. Love.

Here's a sneak peak of how he dries the ruffles. He rolls them out to get them how he wants them and then lets them dry with these marbles propped up underneath so they have some flare.

The top tier took 5 hours. Yes, that's right. 5 dang hrs.

We totally forgot our regular camera and phone cameras are just too convenient now. This is the best we got. Once we got there, the bride gave Danny the "little teacup" and saucer overflowing with flowers. They were pretty, but dang. It's as big as the top tier!

The last two cakes Danny has done have been amazing and people have asked for a business card. Guess who didn't have a business card??? We have been huge slackers when it comes to staying on top of that. We used to be so good at it but it just slipped our minds. We need to get a Facebook business page set up and updated business cards!

Danny is so talented. It's unreal. He just sees things that he thinks look cool (or the bride finds something on Pinterest that she wants him to try) and he just does it. I love that he has such unique talents that not everybody else is good at. It makes our lives interesting and fun. Oh, how I love my Danny Boy.
