Two Years Ago Today

~ Danny heading into surgery to be my support system for the c-section.
~ Me looking like death right after the surgery.
~ Cole's very first picture taken (hooked up to an IV, cpap machine, and some other monitors)
~ His "set up" in the NICU. He spent the first few weeks of his life there...and he seemed pretty at home, although we would have much rather had him at home with us!
~ My first time seeing Cole (It was actually the next evening) I remember I couldn't even hold him, and it seemed surreal to me that he was even my child. All I could do was wrap his little fingers around mine, and talk to him. The first couple days were rough. It was bliss to be able to actually hold him.
~ Looking better already!

I don't really feel like re-hashing the entire birth story...but I do marvel at the miracles that occur in our lives on a daily basis. I'll never forget what a scary time this was for our family--but how much strength we felt as prayers were offered in our behalf. Meals were brought, prayers were offered, and we had lots of visitors! We had some good cries, had some good laughs, and knew that everything was going to be alright...eventually. Now, two years later I look at what a strong, healthy, energetic little boy he's turned into, and I am positive that God hears and answers our prayers. Happy Birthday little man! We love you.

I really can't believe it's been 2 years. I remember the day so well. Talking to you on the phone about everything-you still hadn't held him. It was a scary time but I know your family is stronger because of it. Coleman is a cutie and a keeper. We wish we could be to his party to help celebrate. Happy Day Cole!
