I know this seems obsessive
I need you to know that I am not in love with Carrie Underwood. Seriously. I just love her music...and wish I looked like her, and I think she's really cool...and...fine. I love her--FINE.
Anyway, today while cleaning the kitchen I was listening to my mp3 player and rocking out to Carrie's newest CD:
I've listened to the song "So Small" several times. I can even sing along. And since music has a very drastic effect on my mood--I really like this song. Today it hit me harder than usual. Sometimes I get off-track. WAY off-track. Sometimes I worry about insignificant things. "Do I look cute in this picture? Would I post this on the blog? Should I invite a friend over even if my apartment isn't spotless? What would "so and so" do? Is my hair stylish enough? Do I wear too much makeup? Am I eating right? Does Cole eat enough vegetables? Can I possibly keep up with her/him?" I know I've posted about it before--and I'm about to dedicate an entire post to it...but life is too short to not be genuine and real. I just wanted to share the lyrics to this song because I think they're worth the 30 seconds it will take to read them. I've got the song on my blog too if you care to listen. If you don't like Country music--it's ok...but this song isn't "twangy" if that's what you don't like.

The kind that you just want to give away
It's ok to open up
Go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
You wanna shut the world out and just be left alone
But don't run out on your faith
Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
And when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else seem
So small
It's so easy to get lost inside
A problem that seems so big at the time
It's like a river that's so wide it swallows you whole
While you're sitting around thinking about what you can't change
And worrying about all the wrong things
Time's flying by, moving so fast
You better make it count cause you can't get it back
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
Oh, and when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else seem
So small
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
And then you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Oh, it sure makes everything else seem
