Sick as a dog

I always wondered where this expression came from. Maybe I'll never know. But I do know that having back pain and the flu is not fun. I've been sick all week and I'm ready to be done with it! Sure I've lost 3 pounds, but it's not worth the way I've been feeling! Hopefully next week I'll be back to my A-game.
