Why Didn't They Tell Me Part 7

If you're new to this segment...it's called Why Didn't They Tell Me. Basically a bunch of super embarrassing picture of myself that I think are worthy to show the entire universe. Welcome and enjoy.
Camouflage is not a good look for me.

I'm not sure why it look so long for me to figure this out. Maybe it's because my Sophomore roommate Sonnie was in the ROTC and I wanted to be like her because I watched 30 pounds melt off of her in a matter of weeks. Of course, she was extremely buff and had a very "masculine" voice--so...anyway.

Picture 1 is me trying to act "cool" in my personal {gross} camo. Like I said...I'm not sure why I thought it was such a cool thing to do. It's more in style NOW than it was 10 years ago. This is easily blamed on all of my roommates that year. I should have been warned or pulled into a dark corner with some handy tips on how not to look disgusting.

But the kicker is picture 2. If you haven't noticed--I'm not a size 4 (or even a 12...we just won't go there) and I decided to be G.I. Jane for Halloween. See? I was totally into being tough. So, I get on ALL my roommates gear and try to SQUEEZE into it. She had obviously lost a bunch of weight and was in a smaller uniform now. I was barely fitting into it. The belt is what seals the deal for me. This is NOT a flattering look for me. I don't know why I just didn't look in a flipping MIRROR. They apparently didn't exist in 1999.

Every time I see somebody wearing camouflage I'm glad it's them and not me. It's just not meant to be.

I like that you experimented with bandana style...I think picture one was the better of the two, but I don't know if that's saying much! :)

I want to feel for you, but you WERE in college at this point, and you SHOULD have known better.

Even GI Jane wore a sexy Tank with her camo Garb! Boy how I miss those Tank top days.....(sigh)

@Dee- I know...but in my defense, I didn't develop ANY fashion sense until well after my sophomore year of college.

@Steph--please. You looked NOTHING as close to gross as I did.

@Amelia--I agree, picture 1 was better. I think I needed to prepare everyone for what was coming though--it was a good ice breaker, don't you think?

@Val--I am only one size bigger than Annie...what are you trying to say?

I wore camo and pulled the same pose as you did in pic one at my Senior MORP in HS. When my dad saw the picture he said, "Why do you always have to pull stupid faces in pictures? You look like you're about to kill someone!" Thanks dad - nice that you don't even KNOW what COOL means...SHEESH!

You know, I've never really been a camo person. In fact, my oldest was supposed to wear camo to school for some kind of Army day, and I came up with nothing....ever. Still to this day I see little kids shirts in camo and think, "should I get that in case she has to wear camo to something again?" Apparantly, it just isn't doing it for me!

You're so funny! I don't remember very much of what was in style while we were teenagers being very if at all, flattering?! I look at all my little sisters cute single years pictures and sometimes wonder why more flattering or cute fasions couldn't have been back when it was my wedding video pictures I was taking. Dang it.
