Turkey Day Top Ten
6. I am grateful for beautiful photography.
I have always been completely nerdy about photography. To the point where when I see a gorgeous picture I have a tendency to overreact. I can't help it. I'm a passionate person, what can I say? I am so grateful that we have the technology of such nice cameras to capture the beauties of the world. I am privileged to know several very GOOD photographers. One in particular that I wanted to mention was my good friend Val.
Val has been interested in photography for a long time and has just recently (in the last couple years) started doing it as less of a hobby and as more of a side job. She's got the raw talent that some people lack. Not everyone can be an artist just because they have a paint brush. It's the same with a camera. Yeah--she has a great camera, but more importantly she has an eye for what looks good and has impeccable taste. Simple, beautiful and elegant.
We were lucky enough to have her do our family pictures. If you are looking for someone who is affordable and easy to work with, give her a shout out by checking out her blog. We didn't give her much to work with this particular day--and she turned out some great photos anyway! That is when you know someone has skills!

Those are VERY cute pictures of Cole and your whole fam! Val did a great job!
Also, the bridal portrait post was hilarious (the fact that she was terrible wasn't funny, but your commentary was). I had a really bad bridal portrait experience and ended up getting out of our contract with the guy 2 or 3 weeks before the wedding. Needless to say it was stressful, but we ended up with a wonderful photographer for our wedding. I've learned my lesson...shop around for a really good photographer for your wedding, even if it means spending more!
