An Explanation You're Probably Waiting For...

I really wasn't trying to be sneaky in my last post, I promise! I've gotten so many emails about what my secret was. In all honestly, I didn't have time to type it all out but I really wanted to document that that was a really great day and I'm glad I did :) I hope you're not too disappointed in what you read was our good news...

So, there are 2 things going on in our lives that have made us feel very lucky. The first is something that I won't go into great detail on. Danny and I have struggled a long time with our finances. Just recently we have started doing something that has really impressed us. We know it will give us the financial boost that we really need and will help us get out of student loan debt and into a house. Hurray for houses! ;) If you want to know more, you can contact me.

Second, my sister-in-law Amanda has pretty much handed some things to me on a silver platter. First of all, she introduced me to the beautiful world of donating plasma. (Nothing to do with the aforementioned adventure). You get to lay there for 45 minutes watching a flat screen TV while making money. You can do it twice in a 7 day period and they are actually always needing people. Win. Win.

Then she goes and does this: Last week I got a call explaining that the school where she teaches is looking for a temp to come in and help with "Extended Care" also referred to as a Summer Camp for the kids. She was wondering if I was interested in just checking it out. So the next day I interviewed with the Director of the School. It was a 3 week position that would allow me to bring Cole everyday to play with the kids while I essentially just babysat them. Turns out the position payed pretty well too. It was a perfect set up...then it gets better.

The director had heard that I really wanted Cole to be able to start school this Fall but wasn't able to afford Preschool (much less PRIVATE school)...and after talking to Amanda several months ago about this school, I really felt like I needed to send Cole there but it didn't make ANY sense because we had no money. It was really frustrating for me to feel like Cole was supposed to go somewhere that I felt like was impossible...so I just kept trying to forget about it.

After discussing the 3 week job position she mentions that she had been feeling like she needed to add somebody to their staff. She started thinking the night before that she needed somebody to help out where needed whether it be on the playground, in the classroom or anywhere they need adult supervision. She suggested that Cole would be able to have free tuition if we just wanted to work out a trade where I came in while he was in school and basically volunteered my time. HELLO. I thought there was a hidden camera in the room. Cole will get to start school, he'll have the opportunity of getting the social interaction that he so desperately needs and I'll be able to get out of the house and interact with other adults in a very inviting, safe setting.

This might not seem like a huge deal to some of you. But for me, things finally made sense. I wasn't stressed out about having feelings that didn't make sense to me, it wasn't costing me any money and I felt like it was a huge answer to prayers that I'd been offering without feeling like I wasn't going to get an answer anytime soon :) So the point is this: I know Heavenly Father hears our prayers. He might wait up until the last minute (or 4 weeks before the school year starts) but He knows what he's doing. IF ONLY I could remember that and truly have FAITH in that. Anyway, that's most of the news. Things are pretty dang good.

Sooo.....where do you donate plasma? LOL! EVERYONE keeps suggesting it and telling me they do it/have done it but I have never asked WHERE because I have always "heard" that the places are "seedy"..lots of scary-ish people do it. But you are the millionth NORMAL person to tell me they do it....Where do you go? And are there lots of weirdos??

my sister just moved to GA and the thing they miss the most about UT is American Heritage of South Jordan. They are seriously mourning that school.

What a great opportunity for you AND Cole. So glad things are looking up!!!
