FOR. THE. LOVE.

There are five reasons why I'm posting this video:

1. I love David Archuleta.
2. I love Spanish music and the Latin culture.
3. David is 1/2 Honduran.
4. I served my mission in Honduras.
5. Doy. Best performance TO DATE.

Here's a short review:

Even if you are not typically a fan of Latin music, this is a performance to see. This year's ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards were televised last Friday and featured a stunning performance from formerAmerican Idol runner-up David Archuleta. He won the award for Male Music Rising Star. When David Archuleta started to sing it quickly became obvious why he was deserving of such an accolade. He performed the song "Contigo en la Distancia." The song is most closely associated with Mexican Latin pop star Luis Miguel. Now 18, David Archuleta sings with impressive maturity in voice and demeanor. This is one of the best performances of his career to this point. Look for a Spanish language track on David Archuleta's upcoming Christmas collection Christmas From the Heart.

I've got the original Luis Miguel album this song comes from, I'll have to let you borrow it sometime. I love this song, and that entire album. Something about latin love songs that just don't translate the same in English.

I agree Greg. There is something so much more romantic about spanish love songs. and it bugs me that they kept translating "alma" into heart...we know it's supposed to be soul :)

Thanks for sharing- that was amazing. It's been a LONG time since I've purchased music (well, okay, maybe a little less than a year, but it seems like longer) but I'll probably buy his Christmas album per your recommendation.
