Jell-o Arms

This week I had two solid workouts. *curtsy* and this is progress for me so I'm feeling pretty happy about it.  I wanted to go outside really bad today even though it was chilly and Cole was desperate to get out of the house.  He's also been begging me to let him exercise with me (it's been so cute, he literally cried the other night when I did Turbo Jam after he went to bed because he wanted to do it with me).  ANYWAYS, so the first couple miles were awesome.  We played "Simon Says" and I let him be in charge of when we jogged and when we walked.  He'd say something like "Simon says run to the fire hydrant" and then we'd run.  I'm happy to report that my five year old cannot outrun me yet.  Once we finished up mile 2 he was pretty much done but I was impressed that he hung on that long! After that it turned into me carrying 50 pounds of pretty much dead weight.  I'd carry him for 5 minutes and then walk by him (kind of dragging him, heh) and then 5 minutes of the piggyback ride.  I don't know who was happier to be home by the end.  It was only a 3.2 mile workout but for a 5 year old, I think that's pretty admirable! Heck, for a 30 year old in my shape, I think it's pretty admirable :) I just realized that we did a 5K together.  Wow.

Since I hate working my triceps because they are incredibly weak, this seemed like a good solution for both of us.  My arms are like unto jell-o and he got spoiled for an entire mile.  Win-Win.  Next time I'll force him to wear a jacket even if he does put up a stink.

Um, I don't know how you did that. My 20 lb. kid gives me a dead arm when I have to carry her more than a few minutes at a time. ouch.
congrats! that is seriously awesome and lots more than I've done lately...
