9 months

It's weird to think that Caleb has now been outside the womb longer than he was in it.

Caleb's 9 month doctor appointment is next week so I don't have exact stats on him yet but here is what I can tell you about my Bubbers:

* He loves to smile and his eyes squint and his nose crinkles when he does.
* He just graduated into a size 4 diaper.
* He is loving big people food but hasn't figured out how to put food in his mouth by himself yet.
*He has now lost all of his dark hair and has lots of lovely strawberry blonde hair. It's curly after a bath and I'm obsessed with it.
* He is cutting his SIXTH tooth!
* He can make all sorts of cool sounds with his mouth, lips and tongue. His first word was "mama" and he still isn't saying the hard "d" or "b" sounds even though I know that typically comes first. It's a lot of mamamamamama. What can I say, he loves his mama.
* He likes to be frightened. He will actually laugh when he's scared. It must be a coping mechanism :)
* He is obsessed with Cole. He lights up whenever he's around.
* He has started flipping onto his tummy while in his crib. He is pretty proud of that.
* He is very social and smiles a lot for strangers.
* Having said that, he does experience a certain degree of separation anxiety when I leave. It depends on who he's being left with. He still loves his cousin, Erin the most.
* He is a fabulous sleeper. It's rare that he wakes up during the night. Sometimes he'll sleep 10-12 hours straight.

* When he gets excited, his entire body trembles. Sometimes it freaks us out a little bit because it looks like he's having a seizure.
* He is more cuddly than Cole was as a baby which I am enjoying.
* He is wearing mostly 18 month clothing. He grows out of things quicker than I can buy them!
* His surgery went great but about 10 days later, his eyes slowly started to cross again. I got him in right away to be seen by the doctor but was disappointed with how it went. He's still in the six week post-op time frame so there's not a whole lot the doctor will do as far as making decisions. Maybe another surgery. Possibly vision therapy. Lots of uncertainty.
* Sometimes when I'm holding him, I still get teary-eyed thinking about how lucky we are to have him. I feel like we have been so blessed to have him join our family.
* Caleb loves taking baths. Especially when I lay him down on his back.
* He has dimples just like his older brother. They aren't quite as pronounced but they're there!

 * He absolutely LOVES to be hung upside down. He's also a big fan of being tossed into the air, balanced on dad's hand and his latest discovery is floating in the pool.

I can't wait to see what the next few months bring! The last 9 months have been full of happiness, joy and so much love.
