Kelly's Grove

We had our annual "reunion" with the Whites down in Kelly's Grove. This year has been my favorite one yet. Andrea took the reigns and really organized a great get-together. She did such an awesome job that I think it should be structured like this every year. In the past it has just been something that we showed up to, everyone ate their own food, there was a little socializing and then we left. This year was a lot different and it was awesome! There was a group of golfers earlier in the day and then the rest of the festivities began. Amy and I were in charge of crafts, we had BBQ dinner, lots of places for the kids to play and explore, a photo booth, HUGE jenga, bingo during dinner {complete with prizes}, water balloon launching and lots of visiting. It was really fun. We only see some of these people twice a year so it's hard to really develop a strong bond with them but I feel like this is a really good step in the right direction for helping good friendships develop.

Cole only makes this face because he knows it creeps me out.

Taking a turn as the Bingo announcer.

Huge jenga blocks by Karissa.

BFF's.

Gettin' their craft on. Good old boondoggle.

I took some pictures in part of the actual "grove" and even though they're grainy when they're full size and the lighting isn't quite right, it's fun to play with a camera that has more settings than my iPhone.

I offered to take some pictures of Emily since she is due any day now and she was gracious enough to let me experiment a bit.

And back to the action...

I had the bright idea to bring hair dye {made of chalk}because it's fun and we all need a little more fun in our lives. Danny wants me to permanently have a pink streak in my hair like this. Not kidding. If only I were brave enough. I'd love to have a little bit of pink hair.

Dry ice in the river.

The birdcage trick worked to finally get him to nap.
We were missing McCall for the SIL pic.

Water balloon launching is always a hit.

That looks so fun...I like the idea of having organized activities, I should pass that idea on to my family! And girl, you rock the pink stripe. Keep it. :)

What a blast!

I think you SHOULD have pink hair all the time. If nothing else, just chalk it every day, then it's not permanent!

You're cute.
