Donut Falls
We have really enjoyed getting outdoors this summer. I don't know why it's taken us 10 years of marriage to realize that summer is so much better when you spend it outdoors. We decided to head up to Donut Falls on Saturday night since soon summer will be over and I'll be working on Saturday nights. We got the house ready for a showing and headed out. We stopped at Subway where Caleb took his first "selfie".
After filling up on gas and putting more air in the tires, we were off. We blasted some music and opened the sun roof. Good, good times.
It was the perfect evening for a hike. A little later than we thought we'd get up there but we knew we had time to get up to the falls and back before dark. Danny and I have never been to Donut Falls which must be a sin because I've heard about it all growing up but have just never been. I've heard it's one of of Utah's most popular hikes for families.
Once we got out of the car, we realized it was a little chilly for Caleb who wouldn't be warmed up by walking so I put on these halloween socks that were in the D.I. bag in the back of the car. It was perfect.
I loved how green this hike was. I felt like we were in Portland. I wish all of Utah was this green!
Caleb was thrilled about the gigantic moose we saw.

There were lots of people on the trail even so late at night. It got dark right as we got back down to the bottom of the trail.
See how happy I am even though I went off the trail for a bit and got stung by stinging nettle?
Here's to a few more family nights in the great outdoors before school starts.
