Family Home Evening with a 2 year old

I'm sure this isn't foreign to many of you. Trying to have a spiritual thought (even if just a few minutes long) is sometimes borderline impossible with a toddler. Tonight we were trying to have Family Home Evening and Cole suggested "Bum Beam" for the opening song. (Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam). We spent about 5 minutes going over different pictures of Jesus and Joseph Smith, etc. trying to tell some stories. Cole just wanted to keep singing. His next song of choice is "Geegle Geegle ittle Dar". It's really funny how he says his "r"s pretty good, but struggles with "s" and "t". Anyway, Danny was holding a picture up, and trying to explain something to Cole, and he could LITERALLY not sit still long enough to grasp even 3 seconds of what we were trying to do. So we just sang some more songs and called it a night. Hopefully we are judged on our efforts, and not on the actual outcome!

you mean cole can't name all the prophets in chronological order? hmm...he's a little behind for his age, rae... come on, step up those FHE lessons, please.

Shalie couldn't sit still for two seconds tonight either. I think it's the effort that counts!
