*Trying to keep my composure*
I was going to wait until tomorrow to post my Idol review because it's late and I'm tired--but I can't wait that long. I haven't smiled so much over an episode of Idol in a long time. I'm not the most eloquent writer, but that's not why I blog--so keep reading. I thought David Archuleta was by an entire light year, in a different league tonight. His vocals were so on. He was happy (so smiley!). He was classy (defending Jason's song). He was brilliant (hello--the arrangements?). I absolutely loved "Stand by Me". That is probably one of my favorite performances from anybody on the show in a long time. I was so giddy when Simon said "You didn't beat the competition tonight, you crushed the competition". Woot! I have never seen such crazy talent from a human being his age since Charlotte Church. (Although now I hear she is a controversial potty-mouth. heh.) Back to Davide. His voice is like butter and I can only hope to have a fraction of the musical talent that he possesses at such a young age!
Wasn't this supposed to be David Cook's niche? I was expecting more from him, and actually felt like his performances were both lackluster. He seems either extremely stressed out or just out of "it". I can only imagine what the stress level is like at this point--but somehow they are all handling it. It feels like Cook either knows he is going to the finale, or that he doesn't care if he makes it...I can't make sense of it. Maybe he only wanted to get this far and now he doesn't want to win because of the stigma that might be attached to an "American Idol Rocker"? I don't know. He's kind of bugging me lately. Thoughts?
Where do I start with Jason? First of all--Simon is such a jerk. Sometimes he says the most cruel things. I think he's gotten pretty ridiculous this season. Jason has put up with SO much garbage from him. I know he isn't the best. I know he'll probably go home Wednesday night (unless sympathy votes save the day) but honestly--when the judges are supposed to offer constructive criticism to the contestants and they just say "Pack your bags"...how is that supposed to encourage and/or offer them helpful suggestions? I thought Jason's song choices were weird for trying to make the top 3. He acts like he's kind of bored with the competition now and wants to just go chill and play his guitar on the beach...but nobody deserves to be treated like that. He's got a huge fan base though and I'm sure he won't be hurting for money (or attention) anytime soon.
Shazam! I remember Syesha at the beginning of the season was so cute and had this really bubbly personality and then I felt like she got lost in all the David hype (fine I probably added to it). But, lost no more! Syesha is amazing. She is an incredible performer and obviously had her "moment" tonight. I thought both of her songs were really solid and she was spot on! Her and Archie were definitely my favorites tonight. In fact--I think they are my favorites, period. I honestly hope she doesn't do Broadway because I think she could put out about a dozen albums and they would all have #1 hits on them. I don't have my finger on the pulse of America-so I have no idea what everyone else thinks of her, but dang. If I wasn't voting for Archie tonight, I would have been voting for her. I hope she sticks around another week!

Go Archuleta! I do hope David Cook comes back with better performances next week, cause I'm still a fan of his too. And Syesha is just getting cuter by the minute. I can picture her being another one-name star, like Beyonce or Aliyah or someone.
GO DAVIDS!!!!!!!!
David cook didn't hit the mark sadly---maybe it was too much hype cause this was suppose to be his week. He wasn't horrible, just not amazing which was what was expected.
I should note, I hate the crying scene. I feel like people do it for votes---feel sorry for me, so vote for me. I really didn't get Syesha. I have been done with her for a while unfortunately and the crying put me over the top---it always does. PEople don't think about her singing after that.
Poor Jason...Not sure how I feel about that one..>Forgetting the words and not even trying to pretend. NEver ever good. It should be him, but I don't want it to be
