I'm finally getting some much needed therapy. I love to blog. I have found that instead of feeling like I have to, I feel like I want to because it is such a good way for me to look at the things I'm thankful for and it also encourages me to keep track of the funny things Cole says and does. All around--a fantastic thing.
So Thanksgiving. I'm going into this day while trying to lose weight. Let's just keep that in mind. I did very well the days preceding T-day. I even did good for the first half of the day...but after that stuffing had digested, I was well on my way to dieting hell. I had two pieces of pie, some icecream, pistachios, m&ms and probably 3 more rolls. It was quite telling. It was also quite delicious.
I've had many better days since then--but what is it about that holiday that makes me want to binge? I guess I'm afraid that all the food on the entire planet will be vacuumed away into some black hole in space because I was worried enough to eat most of it just in case.
Hopefully I'm back on track, so let's just focus on the positive. The food was good and the company was better. We were with Danny's family this year and as always--had a great time. I still marvel that some people despise their in-laws. I'm so lucky. No, seriously. There are 3 more brothers in this family that are unmarried and if you act now, you can join the fun. Don't miss this great opportunity...
Out of all these pictures, I just have to say that I really love my SILs. Angie and Emily are so great. So easy going and fun. They are both pretty much perfect so instead of trying to match their intense homemaking skills, I just try to be the funny one so nobody will notice that I can't sew, quilt, can peaches or make salsa from scratch. (Do. Not. Tell.)
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, one of my best friends Val, took family pictures for the White Family. This is a gift that we're giving Mom and Dad White from all the kids. I cannot divulge the location because I don't want photographers to steal it. I'll let Val make that call. This was the most hilar part of the photo shoot. After we were done, Nate and Cole wandered off to check out the abandoned railroad tracks. They were talking and looking SO serious. Like, "should we build here"? or "do you think we could get water lines in by the deadline?" It was so funny. I love that Val captured the moment. Danny jumped in and got some cute ones, too. I'm so glad those boys are little buds. There isn't anyone else their age on this side of the family so they have to stick together and talk about boy things like railroad tracks!
We haven't wasted ANY time getting our December to-do list done. We went downtown on Monday night with most of the Whites. We hang out because we kind of like each other. It's also been fun having Brian and Emily closer so they can join us for outings. The weather wasn't bad at all and we got to enjoy the lights of downtown, some hot cocoa from the Lion House Pantry and good company. Temple Square--check.
Here's to about a billion more things to come. I love December. It's so busy and crazy but I still love it :)

I love when Laura gives a big 'ol smile when we pose. I think she likes me. Yessssssss. I didn't actually eat the particular pie that I'm posing with (because it was pumpkin)--but I was tempted, trust me. Gma White barely makes it on the blog so I have to capitalize on this opportunity. I didn't eat the plate of pie either and although I promised a certain brother that I would put it on facebook with him eating it...I am not going to stoop to my own level. We also can't get enough of Ellie and her pie eating. I could just stare at her for hours. Why is it that everything a baby does is so adorable?
