Day with the Whites

My besty (yep, just used that word) Val, took family pictures for the Whites last Saturday. We were at Murray Park with the other half of the Salt Lake Valley. There were SO many photographers there it was funny.  It's such a great place for pictures. We got some awesome shots and I can't wait to see them.  I also ran into a family friend, Scott Harmon (bottom left in the picture) taking pictures for a family. Murray Park is always a hot spot for pictures because it has big, beautiful trees that are just as pretty in the Spring and Summer as they are in the Fall.
(Side note: David Archuleta is from Murray so that's probably why it's so pretty).

Then we went back to the Mom and Pop White's and carved pumpkins, made donuts and ate the traditional sloppy joe dinner.  Again, I love traditions.  Big or small.  Brad had his cute girlfriend Annalyn there and it's nice to have another girl around! The jack-o-lanterns turned out awesome! Danny did the Charlie Brown and spider web ones.

I didn't go near the pumpkins and I actually wasn't much help with the donuts either because I wanted to work on this project I  saw on Pinterest.  (It's probably better that way because I think I always cook the donuts too long on one side).  I was SO happy with how they turned out! I was making them for Cole's class party but soon realized that all my work was going to go unappreciated by the little 6 year-old kids so I stuck the straws on the back of the finished mummy that said "You're my favorite Mummy!" and the kids took them home to their moms. I feel much better about it :) The thought of seeing all the empty juice boxes in the trash broke my heart a little bit so it was better this way.

I ran out of googley eyes towards the end so one was a cyclops (which actually turned out to be a popular one) and a couple had smaller eyes but nobody seemed to mind!
