Saturday
I can hardly believe this weekend is almost over. I feel so jipped. But some weekends are just like that. This week was spent helping my parents get ready for their yard sale. Poor Cole spent more than an appropriate amount of time watching movies and games on my kindle but I felt like with my parents both in poor physical condition--a lot of the work fell on me. I can tell you today that I really overdid it. The sale was a smashing success but I really overexerted myself and I need to take it easy this week. I wish we could have had more help on the day of the sale because there were times when it got pretty crazy and it is definitely not for the faint of heart. Some hard core yard salers are ridiculous and insulting with how cheap they want things so you have to be good about rolling with the punches and learning how to put your foot down. At least it's over and out of the way. Danny missed most of it because he had to work. Working on Saturdays is lame.
At the last yard sale Danny and I put on, we decided to sell cold drinks and it was a hit. We more than doubled what we paid for the drinks so it was totally worth it. We decided to give it another try. Cole was so excited to help. He made this poster all by himself. This kid cracks me up. Unfortunately, it wasn't as successful as last time (Cole also got bored with it and I don't blame him because the yard sale lasted 5 hours!). That's okay. You win some, you lose some.
After the sale, my parents took Nate and our little fam out to lunch. Then we headed over to Kohl's to pick up some new church clothes for our Cole. This kid is growing like a weed. We came home and got cleaned up to go out on a date. I love date night. They aren't nearly frequent enough. Cole hung out with Gma and Gpa White so we could get to the temple. It's been way too long. I walked into the chapel and was shocked to see our good friends Gavin and Stef! It was hard to be so reverent in the temple when being surprised with such happy faces. I leaned over and told Danny that if we were true friends, she'd either save me a seat next to her or wait for us. We are true friends :) They waited and it was awesome to have someone to sit with during the session. We asked some teenage girls to take our picture outside the temple and then decided to join them (the Winkelkotters, not the teenagers) for dinner at Kneaders afterwards and had some good laughs. I sure wish they lived closer. Nevada seems so far away...
They were headed to the Lone Ranger after dinner but we were both pooped and didn't think the Whites would appreciate us showing up after midnight so we went and picked up Colie Pokey. He still begs Danny to carry him out to the car (and then up the stairs when we got home) like an infant and Danny is a sucker for his little boy and does it even though it about breaks his back. He's glad that soon we'll have an actual baby to carry around like that again. :)
