Taking one for the team

I met up with Stef, her mom and 8 other kids at Jungle Jim's on Thursday. It was a totally last minute get together and I was able to find a free ticket for Cole in our Entertainment Book. It has now paid for itself a few times. Yessss.

Cole was pretty brave until it came time for the roller coaster. He told one of the employees that he wouldn't EVER go on that ride. I had already tried to bribe him with either $1 or an ice cream cone. Yep, I'm that kind of mom. Neither idea sounded good to him. One of the ride operators told him that she'd give him 25 tickets if he went on the rollercoaster and then listed off some of the little trinkets he could buy with that many tickets. For some reason, that did the trick. He rode next to Stef (I wasn't about to squeeze into that thing and be spun around like a lunatic) and even though his eyes were clinched tight the entire time, she got him to put one hand in the air for a few seconds. He has no desire to do it again BUT he earned his 25 tickets. He was so proud of himself.

I was pretty uncomfortable the entire time with either walking around or sitting on the metal benches but Cole was having a blast and commented a couple times after we left how much fun he had so it was worth it to me.
