Turning 33
The best part about my birthday this year was pretending like I didn't have gestational diabetes. I figured it wouldn't be a matter of life and death to take just one day off and eat without counting carbs and testing my blood throughout the day. I didn't go totally nuts like I *could* have but I definitely cheated and it was so nice to not have to worry about going over my carbs for the day! After getting home from the shower, I opened my gifts from Danny and I did make a selfish request...I wanted to be sung to since I knew that was probably the only time it was going to happen that day. Well, since there wasn't an official birthday cake, my Mom stuck a candle in a cup of water and that was my birthday candle. It got the job done :)
Then Cole hung out with cousins at the house while Danny and I went to Red Robin. He made sure to let the server know that it was my birthday but that I did NOT want to be sung to. Worked like a charm. We shared a delicious BLTA (avacado) and this birthday treat. It really hit the spot. Oh, glorious ice cream. How I love you so.
Then we wandered around town for a bit and stopped at Deseret Book to get a couple things to help Cole get ready for his Baptism Day. I almost can't believe I'm tying that...
My birthday was super low key but I wouldn't have had it any other way this year. That night, we rented Dan in Real Life, which I've been wanting to watch for months. We broke down and rented it from iTunes after looking everywhere else for it. I forgot you can do stuff like that. Technology rules.
It was a great day and the best part about having a birthday on August 31st is knowing that the next day is the beginning of one of my favorite months of the year--September! Bring on the jacket weather!

We're soul mates.
I had to laugh that your mom put a candle in a cup of water. What?!
Oh, and also I am in complete shock that you're preparing for Cole's baptism. That's just weird. He can't possibly be that BIG!!
