December happenings

Last year I didn't like having Cole off track during December because it was so snowy and cold and I had a newborn. This year was so much better! I loved having Cole off track because it meant no schedule! We could sleep in, not leave the house to take and pick him up from school and we were able to go on a lot more outings! December was perfect because I feel like we stayed busy with doing fun things with friends but also had just enough down time to not feel like we were running ourselves ragged. The month flew by and before I knew it, it was back to school. Some random December highlights: We finally took Amy up on her offer to show us around Station Park in Farmington. That place is keeping it classy. But seriously. Ice skating rink, happy twinkly lights, a massive Christmas tree, playground and lots of stores. Most importantly, froyo.

This is what happens when you let little boys pose themselves

Sarah {far left} is betrothed to Cole. We need to get together more to foster this friendship so that it can bloom.

Messy dinners and the aftermath

I had to take the boys to a team meeting because I couldn't find a babysitter and they were so good that I treated them to lunch at the onsite restaurant. My manager was so funny with Caleb. He wanted to be so helpful and kept offering him candy. Chocolate candy. {He has no children and doesn't know how messy this could potentially be}. I let him have the candy and just dealt with the mess because I knew Chris was trying to help out.

One random morning...

AWESOME bed head

Tried a craft that I found on Pinterest. Nailed it.

We had a special family home evening and watched the church videos "He is the Gift" and a few #SharetheGift videos. The church has put out some amazing, uplifting media this year and we wanted to join in by letting others know what we wanted to contribute to the cause.

We watched all 5 seasons of Studio C and now we're hooked. I don't know how I haven't been a fan of this show until now. We especially love when Matt becomes the shoulder angel.

I ran errands a few times with Cole at home. Now that we have a grocery store closeby, I felt okay in leaving him with alone Caleb. We skyped for a bit while I was on my way and then he said he'd text/skype me if he needed to get in touch with me while I was gone. Technology rocks. And so does shopping alone.

Caleb gets around without walking and doesn't care the slightest bit that his pants are falling down.

Recreating his bedroom...in the hallway.

We picked up kits from IKEA to make some gingerbread {the real deal} houses this year and I've decided it's the only way to go. Totally worth the $4.00.

Emmet had a nice, cozy home this year.
