Festival of Trees

It's been a few years since we've gone to the Festival of Trees but I got discount tickets at work and figured if we went on a Thursday night, it wouldn't be too bad. It had been a tradition for Danny and and I since we got engaged but the last time we went, it was so crowded and hot, I vowed we'd never go back. This year, 1-800-CONTACTS had a tree that they donated and I was curious to go check it out because I heard it was pretty awesome. We met Danny there after work and it was actually really fun.

Caleb was a pretty good sport even though by the end, he was pretty wiggly and ready to get out of the stroller.

We sat down to rest our feet for a bit and started watching this women's group of cloggers who were really impressive! I couldn't believe that some of them were in their 70's and still going strong! What a great way to stay in shape and socially connected. Maybe I should take up clogging...

We were sitting there getting really into the music, hooting and hollering and clapping along when we spotted my parents. We had no idea they were going so it was fun bumping into them so randomly.

The 1-800-CONTACTS display was really impressive.

Dang, I could use that year supply of free contacts...

If we could make each trip to the Festival this enjoyable, we'd go every year. Usually my attention span is gone after an hour and all the trees start looking the same {although there were a massive amount of "Frozen"-themed displays that really did look the same} but with us being able to walk through faster and not lollygag, we got to see more than usual and we all enjoyed it. We love looking at the gingerbread houses too and maybe some year we'll donate one if we get really good. We're not quite up to caliber yet...
