is it a link or just part of the background? If it's a link, you can get rid of it, but it seems like it's just part of the artwork.. and if that's the case, it's staying for good. PYZAM created the background and they are taking credit for it. it's called a copyright logo :)
Although that gold star is tempting & I would proudly hang it in my home, I have no idea. And if Janet can't figure it out then I'm guessing it's impossible. Bummer about losing all of your links but you do have a cute blog - hopefully it makes up for it.
